Hey, I Took Econ 10!

Basically yes. I’m a bit cagey about mandated vacation time–I’m tempted to think that we collectively do a bad job creating economic arrangements that are congenial to human flourishing, and that mandated vacation time would be a good step in the right direction, but it obviously has its costs. People say otherwise because politics is about self-deception.

Update: Will Wilkinson compares the opposite opinion to the laffer curve. This is great, because it’s both so obviously analogous to the vacation argument, and anathema to the people who make that argument.
